There are few places on earth quite like Aktun Chen. Visit this National Park to experience an underground river where you can swim, zipline, and explore the cave. It’s in National Geographic’s Top 10 Underground Walks and it is well worth the visit. You will not regret the time spend here.

Just a short distance from Akumal are a number of small Xel Ha ruins. Here, you can learn about those who once inhabited the land, how they helped shape the culture, and see the artifacts and remainders of a lost civilization. Tour guides are described as friendly and very informative.
