Hilton 1-in-4 Rule
As an HGVC member, you have the ability to exchange your timeshare through Resort Condominiums International (RCI) and stay at luxury timeshare resorts all over the world. However, a few rules apply when trying to exchange through RCI, such as the Hilton 1-in-4 Rule.

How the 1-in-4 Rule Works
Being able to trade through RCI is a huge advantage to owning a timeshare, however, a few rules apply to certain resort chains on how often you can exchange your timeshare. For HGVC timeshare owners, the 1-in-4 rule limits the amount of times you can stay at a certain Hilton resort through RCI exchange.
For example, if you are looking to book accommodations at the Hilton Grand Vacations Club at Parc Soleil through an RCI timeshare exchange, you will not be able to book at that resort for another 4 years. However, because Hilton has such a flexible internal exchange program, HGVC members can make reservations at Hilton resorts as many times as they wish!
How This Rule Affects You
The HGVC 1-in-4 rule will likely not affect you if you are an HGVC member. Exchanging is easy enough through Hilton’s internal network, with few restrictions standing in your way.
However, it is important to note that multiple resort chains enforce a similar rule for RCI exchanges. So if you are trying to book accommodations outside the Hilton network with RCI, please recognize that some restrictions may apply. Most exchange rules differ on a case-by-case basis, so make sure you obtain all the details before processing a timeshare exchange.
