Ground Blessing at Westin Nanea Ocean Villas

Recently, development began on a new Westin resort in Maui, Hawaii. The Westin Nanea Ocean Villas will be a 26-acre oceanfront getaway on Ka’anapali Beach. The development of this new resort started in a unique way as Westin officials took part in a traditional ground blessing ceremony.

Chief officers from Westin and their parent company, Starwood Vacation Ownership, joined in on the ground blessing ceremony with Hawaiian elected officials and community leaders. The ceremony represents how Westin and Starwood are creating a resort that will work with Hawaii’s beautiful natural environment rather than simply building over it. Alan Arakawa, mayor of the County of Maui, stated, “Starwood has always been respectful, gracious and kind to our community…We are thankful that Starwood continues to expand their brand here in Maui County.”
