Hilton Grand Vacations has officially announced a new resort coming to the island of Maui in 2021. The property, Maui Bay Villas by Hilton Grand Vacations, will be the brand’s 10th property in Hawaii, but the first one on Maui.
CEO of HGV, Mark Wang, talked about how it was a no brainer to add an Hilton Grand Vacations property on Maui, saying:
“Our customers consistently rank Maui as one of their top requests for expanding our portfolio of resorts, and we’re thrilled to add this spectacular destination for our owners and guests. Expanding our brand presence to a third Hawaiian Island will further support Net Owner Growth by attracting new customers and enhancing the experience we offer our current owners.”
This new HGV property will be set on a 27-acre site with 740 feet of oceanfront views of Maalaea Bay, on the site of the old Maui Lu in Kihei. Maui Bay Villas by Hilton Grand Vacations will have a total of 388 units for guests with one-, two-, and three-bedroom options. The resort style campus is set up to be composed of a dozen one- to four-story buildings.
On-site amenities planned for Maui Bay Villas by Hilton Grand Vacations include a clubhouse with a restaurant, keiki club, fitness center, a large swimming pool with a poolside bar, an oceanfront beach club, and more.
The initial phase of the project will include 131 units in four buildings, the clubhouse, pool, operations building, and beach club. The scheduled date for completion is set for the first quarter of 2021.
The second phase includes four building with 149 units. Construction is set to begin in September 2022 and open by August 2024. The third and final phase will be four building with 108 units, with an anticipated completion date of November 2025 and open date of July 2027.
