It’s no secret that travel is on the rise. A survey taken by Vacasa has shown that about 47-percent of people plan to travel this holiday season, with 20-percent still unsure about their travel plans.
While 49-percent have said they will change their plans if there is a COVID-19 spike, that number is down nearly three-quarters from 2020. People are highly motivated to travel this year after being unable to last holiday season. 40-percent had to change their travel plans last year, compared to 19-percent this year. It is great to see these numbers moving in a positive direction!
A unique “perk” to come out of the pandemic is the ability for people to work remotely more often. To help make traveling less hectic during the holidays, 61-percent of people working full or part-time have agreed that working remotely allows them to avoid the busiest travel days. Additionally, 57-percent that working remotely gives them the opportunity and flexibility to extend their trips.
Trips within the US are the most popular holiday travel destination this year, many are visiting loved ones in other states. Outside of domestic travel, people are looking to find somewhere sunny and warm to spend the 2021 December holidays.
