Here’s the catch-22 about Sheraton Steamboat Resort Villas: there is so much to do year-round that it was actually pretty hard to come up with a definitive 7-day itinerary for this resort location.
But while this list may service a “top seven things to do in Steamboat Springs”, we’re confident in our itinerary because no matter what season you choose to vacation, you’re going to have an amazing time. This RCI Gold Crown Resort is one of the most celebrated, sought after resorts in the country.
So we’ve compiled this list with activities that can be done in any season. If you see one activity that’s better suited for a different time of the year, sublet it with something ubiquitous. Take a ski trip to one of the many majestic mountains in Steamboat Springs or embark on an all day hiking trek to see the breathtaking green scenery, or spend a day at any of the area’s relaxing spa centers. No matter what season you choose to vacation in, Sheraton Steamboat Resort Villas is a getaway like no other!
With a stellar reputation for hosting one of the most gorgeous mountain ranges in the world, many travelers seek out a Sheraton Steamboat Villas timeshare for an extensive ski/snowboard/hiking adventure, and odds are you probably are too. So for the first day of your adventure, it’s a given that you’ll take advantage of one of these great activities, whether it’s skiing the slopes of Steamboat Ski Resort, hitting some of the rails and boxes at the Snowboard Terrain Park, or hiking to some of the most scenic peaks in Steamboat Springs on Emerald Mountain and Howelsen Hill. After spending as little as a day or as long as a week on the mountain, end each one with a visit to the resort’s rooftop hot tub!
Another one of Sheraton Steamboat Resort’s main attractions is the number of unbeatable spas in the area. With many to choose from, you can’t go wrong. Steamboat Grand Spa offers a variety of massages, body treatments, and facials which will help rehabilitate you and bring your body and spirit back to perfect center. The spa uses all-natural and paraben-free products and retail offerings. We recommend the Swedish, Ashiatsu, or hot stone massage.
You might also enjoy the Life Essentials Day Spa in downtown Steamboat Springs as well. The Spa offers organic facials and waxing, ion cleansing, massage modalities, full body oxygen treatments, steam treatments, full body exfoliation, reflexology, and so much more! If you get to the spa early, or you’re not ready to leave after your treatments, you can enjoy chilled alkaline water, hot green tea, fresh fruit, and bite-sized chocolates to compliment a new, revitalized you!
While most people may think of Sheraton Steamboat Resort—and, frankly, Colorado in general—as a winter location, Steamboat Springs also has a reputation for being a golfer’s paradise. Sheraton’s Rollingstone Ranch Golf Club is a one-of-a-kind golf course designed by the famous course architect Robert Trent Jones II in 1974. The course consists of bentgrass/poa annua greens, and bluegrass/ryegrass fairways and roughs. Over the course (pun intended) of eighteen holes, there are 66 fairway and greenside sand bunkers, “water hazards” on holes 8 and 9, and the lovely Fish Creek that flows through six of the holes. Enjoy a relaxing game out on the fairways, and remember to stop and admire the beautiful Colorado backdrop throughout the round!
Regardless of the season in which you choose to vacation, the fishing in Steamboat Springs is booming. There are plenty of places near your Sheraton Steamboat Villas timeshare to fish, both conventionally and fly-fishing. Depending on the time of year, guided trips are usually available along the Steamboat Springs Yampa River and Elk River areas. For trout fishers, the Stagecoach Reservoir is usually booming with biters waiting for a tasty fly to be cast. If you’re looking for a more relaxing fishing adventure, Steamboat Great Outdoors offers guided adventures to help show you how to create the perfect ice fishing set up.
By now, you’ve been out and about all week. You deserve a break! Sheraton Steamboat has some amazing amenities that’ll make for a relaxing atmosphere to give your body a break. Take a dip in Sheraton Steamboat’s outdoor heated pool, spend time decompressing in the resort’s rooftop hot tubs, or retreat to the wonderfully comfortable jacuzzi! Sheraton also offers a fitness center to help you stretch those muscles and prepare for some of the other great outdoor activities you might have planned for the week. If you brought the kids, take them over to the PLAY game room for some family-friendly entertainment and bonding time!
Take a short ride west on Route 40 and spend some time at the Saddleback Ranch. The 8,000-acre ranch offers some incredible activities for both the summer and winter seasons surrounded by the incredibly scenic backdrop of Steamboat Springs. For those in the area on a ski vacation, the Saddleback Ranch offers snowmobile tours, tubing, dinner sleigh rides, and horseback riding from December to about late March. If you’re in the area at any other point during the year, you can embark on cattle drives, horseback rides, dinner wagon rides, and ATV Ranch Tours.
Use this last day for you. Gauge the scope of vacation so far and plan accordingly. Whether that’s another day on the slopes or trails or spending time doing other fun adventures that will allow you to see Steamboat Springs like you’ve never seen before. Take to the skies with the Steamboat Zipline adventures, hit the water and learn how to paddle out at the Mountain Sports Kayak School, take the kids out to the Howelsen Ice Arena for a couple rounds of ice bumper cars or do all three! Optimize your recreation during this last day, and make sure you absorb as much of the gorgeous Steamboat Springs atmosphere as you can. At least until next year!
