A New Disney Vacation Club Resort

Get excited, Disney Vacation Club owners! Disney has announced plans to build a nature-inspired mixed-use resort on Bay Lake opening in 2022! This resort property will sit between Disney’s Wilderness Lodge and Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground, right on the sparkling shores of Bay Lake. The new project joins three others in the works at Walt Disney World Resort, adding over 1,700 more hotels and DVC resort villas over the next four years.

This resort has yet to be named, but will be a deluxe property that compliments its stunning natural surroundings. It will boast over 900 hotel rooms and a number of Disney Vacation Club villas with a variety of unique accommodation types.

President of Walt Disney World Resort, George A. Kalogridis, talked about all the projects underway at this sprawling, magical property:

“Walt Disney World is in the midst of our most significant expansion in the last two decades and the combined 1,700 new hotel rooms and proposed Disney Vacation Club villas we are building at four different resorts will create thousands of new construction and permanent jobs and will drive economic opportunity and incremental revenue for Central Florida. We continue to add new attractions, new lands—and these beautiful accommodations will be right in the heart of all that magic.”

The new Bay Lake resort will be the 16th addition to the portfolio of Disney Vacation Club properties, offering new and exciting opportunities for members and their Disney vacations. Owners who visit the resort can delight in celebration of Walt Disney’s lifelong love and respect for nature paired with enticing accommodation options, all while staying in close proximity to Disney’s famed attractions and new additions.

Disney’s Riviera Resort is currently under construction near Epcot and plans to open in 2019. This will be the 15th Disney Vacation Club resort, offering 200 units in various accommodation styles. Disney’s Riviera Resort will connect Disney’s Hollywood Studios and the Internationale Gateway at Epcot through the Disney SKyliner. It will also be the first all-Disney Vacation Club property at Walt Disney World since Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa opened back in 2004.

Guests staying at Disney’s Riviera Resort will enjoy prime access to the new Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disney’s Hollywood Studios at Walt Disney World Resort. This unique property will gives visitors an authentic and immersive Stars Wars story experience while they interact with characters, dress in costumes, and build their own adventure.

Other exciting expansions to Walt Disney World Resort includes Pandora – The World of Avatar at Disney’s Animal Kingdom and Toy Story Land at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
