The Pocono Mountains Margaritaville Resort Village Will Be the First in the Region

Margaritaville, the Jimmy Buffett-inspired vacation brand, has just announced its upcoming project for a brand new Resort Village in the Pocono Mountains. The year-round property will be built on the site of the former Pocono Manor near Mount Pocono which burned down in 2019.

Construction is set to begin in 2023 with an anticipated opening in mid-2024.

Guests of the property will have several accommodation options and activities to choose from including Margaritaville Hotel Pocono Mountains, Camp Margaritaville RV Resort, Tiny Homes Bungalows, and a winter experience.

Margaritaville Hotel Pocono Mountains will be the brand’s nod to the former Pocono Manor which was originally built in 1902 with a similar look and feel to the building that once stood. Included in the hotel area of the property will be wilderness gardens, a variety of dining options, swimming pools, live entertainment, and endless activities for people of all ages. One of its most notable features is The LandShark Bar & Grill which will be located close to the building and provide guests with exceptional views of the Poconos as they dine.

Camp Margaritaville RV Resort is a luxury camping option for those who want a more unique vacationing experience with the brand. There will be RV sites, super premium RV sites, and cabins available for those who want to “rough it.” Included in the RV suites is access to a private golf cart, a hot tub, a hammock, a fire pit, outdoor seating, a covered living area, and a covered charging station for the golf cart. Additionally, this camping area is unlike many traditional campgrounds with its impressive amenities. The resort will have pickleball courts, a kids club, a dog park, a game room, a retail store, a fitness center, a pool, a restaurant, and a swim-up bar.

The Tiny Homes Bungalows are inspired by the many historic cabins in the region and will have that rustic cabin feel you know and love. Features include country patios and stone firepits. For travelers who are looking for an extended stay, the property will also offer Townhomes that are meant for visitors who want to stick around for a while. The brand is even leaving room for expansion with around 1000 “build for rent” cottage lots in the village.

For those who decide to visit the Resort Village during the winter months, Margaritaville’s winter experience won’t be like any other. The property will transition into the colder weather with snow tubing runs, an ice pond perfect for skating, an ice bar, as well as a hot chocolate and coffee stand. There will also be a Winter Market that will feature a variety of stands and shops to purchase goods and crafts.

The Poconos Mountains offer visitors a plethora of year-round activities to experience. When the weather is warmer, you can spend your days exploring Big Pocono State Park and Tobyhanna State Park for hiking, biking, kayaking, and more.
